It was recently announced that the 2020-2021 school year will bring changes to the administrative staff at Sweetwater Elementary. Our dedicated and innovative leader, Dr. Emily Felton, our principal for the past 3 years, will be moving into this role at Arbor Station Elementary. Thank you, Dr. Felton, for all you have done for our Sweetwater Knights, the staff, our parents, and the community!
And it is with great pleasure that we introduce our new principal for the upcoming school year, Mr. Albert Lindsey, Jr. Mr. Lindsey is already a part of the DCSS family, having served as principal of Lithia Springs High School for the past two years. Mr. Lindsey comes to us with an impressive background, having 25 years of experience in youth development organizations and 14 years of direct experience in education. During his tenure as an educator, he spent two years serving at the elementary level and the remainder with middle and high schools.
In the coming weeks, Mr. Lindsey will be working with Dr. Felton to ensure a smooth transition, while at the same time getting to know our building, our community, and familiarizing himself with the unique needs of our school. It is his desire to build upon the great work that is occurring now at SWES. He is depending upon all of our faculty, staff, and parents to work as a singular unit so that we may continue to best serve our children.
Upon being named our new principal, Mr. Lindsey said, "It is truly an honor to become a part of the Sweetwater family. I can tell that SWES is a unique and special place that I am incredibly humbled to become a part of. I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself completely in our school.
