Sweetwater Elementary School

Purpose:

The purpose of the Flag Corps of Sweetwater Elementary School is to raise and lower the flags of the United States of America and the State of Georgia on a daily basis, weather permitting. It is an honor to be selected for the Flag Corps.

Bylaws:

The Bylaws of the Flag Corps of Sweetwater Elementary School are as follows:

1. Selection for the Flag Corps will be made by students writing an essay about why they would be the right person to be part of the Flag Corps and about what the flag means to them.
2. Students will work together in a cooperative manner without conflict.
3. If sent to OR for any reason, the student will be placed on probation. If another OR offense occurs, the student will be taken off Flag Corps duty for the rest of the school year.
4. Students will be in class by the time the 8 o'clock bell rings.

Membership Requirements:

In order to be a member of the Flag Corps of Sweetwater Elementary School, a student must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a responsible 4th or 5th grader who takes pride in their work
2. Be dependable in duties without being reminded
3. No serious behavior problems
4. Can be chosen by principal or teacher recommendation
